The Altraco MM-33C
Written by Nikki Harrison
Friday, 21 March 2008

altraco_mm.jpgThe florescent flicker of the shop lights radiantly reflects the chrome surfaces of my shiny work bench. The connecting rod caps are all apart with the neatly organized bi-metal bearing shells slightly glistening as if they are asking to be measured by the Altraco MM-33C 0-1" micrometer in my hand. After accurately zeroing the micrometer, I measure the three areas of the bearing shell and then compare to specification. Fortunately all is good, and I won't need to replace the crankshaft of this diesel engine. The tedious effort of the measurements makes for a great afternoon's work.

Having your own set of micrometers is much more efficient than always asking around to borrow them or going out on a limb to trust that the shop’s micrometers are where they are supposed to be. The satin chrome finish frame with insulating sleeves, carbide tipped faces, and ratchet stop-lock lever on this three piece micrometer set caught my eye. The Altraco MM-33C comes in a nice wooden box, and for a very irresistible $44.99 at Tool King, it can be yours. The three sizes are 0-1", 1-2", and last, but not least the 2-3". A calibrating gage is included for the 1-2” and 2-3” tools. I have chosen to feature this set because I totally enjoy all the measuring that is involved in working on diesel engines, especially when I am using reliable tools like the Altraco MM-33C. Long live the diesel engine!

DeWalt DC515K Cordless Vacuum with 18v XRP & Charger Just $99.99
Written by Zach Peil
Thursday, 20 March 2008

">mediumdc515k.jpg Hey dealseekers, here's another bargain from ToolKing.com: the DeWalt DC515K cordless wet/dry vac with an 18v XRP battery and charger for just $99.99 .  The battery and charger combo alone usually costs that much, so you're basically getting the vacuum--itself worth $100--for free.  Or maybe you're getting a $100 vacuum with a free battery and charger if that's the way you want to look at it.

Either way, you're getting a great deal; users have praised the DeWalt DC515K as a handy little vacuum that is small enough to work with in cramped spaces, but powerful enough to handle everything from cleaning pet hair off of furniture to sucking up loose nails and excess liquids.  It's a dustbuster on steroids!  The fact that the vacuum runs on standard DeWalt batteries is a great convenience and gives it a lengthy battery life.

You can't really go wrong here.  You'll have a battery that works in all of your DeWalt tools (and the charger to charge that battery) and you'll also have a versatile cordless vacuum for cleaning up messes around the house or project site.  Check it out at ToolKing.com!
