The manufacturers thoroughly checks the tool, repairs it if necessary, cleans it, then sells it at a greatly discounted price. All reconditioned tools are required by the manufacturer to meet the same quality standards as their new tools and most even include the same manufacturers warranty as their "factory fresh" counterparts.
