Caffe Sanora's HealthyRoast Coffee
Written by Jude Herr
Thursday, 03 April 2008

caffesanoralogo.gifThe good people over at Caffe Sanora were kind enough to send us a bunch of their coffee to sample. I have to say, it has definitely been a treat. Caffe Sanora touts it's coffee as containing more antioxidants than most green teas. This is achieved by special handling of the coffee beans from the field and throughout the roasting process, known as their patented "HealthyRoast Process". By treating their coffee beans with that little extra love, Caffe Sanora is able to retain 100% of the coffee's natural antioxidants resulting in a brew that's better for you.

Here are some of the positive comments from the Toolking and Toologics staff:

Tessa: The Caffe Sanora Dark Roast smells of cinnamon and rich mahoghony leather bound books. Dark Roast
Doug: I hate black coffee but I didn't hate Caffe Sanora Dark Roast when I drink it black.
Eric: The Caffe Sanora definitely tastes like a high-end premium coffee.
Ben: The Dark Roast is robust and complex with a distinct bold smoky flavor.
Cherese: Very smooth, I had the Breakfast Blend
Jude: The Dark Roast doesn't have as much caffeine as what I typically drink but for an afternoon cup of coffee, it perfect with a delicious, smooth and nutty flavor.
Patrick: Compared to Starbucks Dark Roast, which is what i usually drink, it's a bit mellower and smoother. A really nice option that I'd like to see served where I work at the Toolking Superstore in Lakewood, Colorado.
Nikki Harrison: The Signature Roast was a scrumptious sip of love with a really nice mellow twist.
Jason: The Caffe Sanora Breakfast Blend even tasted great when it was lukewarm, which is about the time I got to drinking it.

You can purchase Caffe Sanora directly from their website or find the nearest retailer at www.caffesanora.com.

Written by Jude Herr
Wednesday, 02 April 2008

beercanroof.jpgHere's a great way to save the earth by drinking more beer. You can recycle them into a Beer Can Roof! Robtoberfest over at Instructables.com posted this great tutorial to tell us how.

He made a Beer Can Roof for his chicken coop - who says that will a little more partying, you can't make one for your entire house! All that you need is LOTS of beer cans (so get drinkin'), a piece of 1x6 hardwood board, two 1-foot 5/16" metal Square rods, staple gun, Circular saw or router or saw with Dado blade, tin snips, square, chisel, hammer, drill & bits and gloves.

Go to Instructables.com where you can watch the condensed 47 second Instructable video. Then go to the store and get cases of your favorite canned beer (mine is Tecate with a lime for the summer). Then get online and get your tools at Toolking.com. Wanna save the earth some more? Then buy reconditioned power tools at Toolking.com.

Tuesday, 01 April 2008

lxt405.jpg Heads up, guys: Makita is currently running an offer that will net you a free BL1830 LXT 18V lithium-ion battery when you buy one of three different four-piece Combo Kits: the LXT405, LXT406, and LXT407.  All three combo kits come standard with two LXT li-ion batteries, so this deal brings your battery count up to three no matter which kit you buy.lxt406.jpg

Some quick details about the tools that come in each kit.  First off,  all three kits come with both the BHP452 1/2" Hammer Driver-drill and a four-position flashlight as two of the four tools.  The other two tools included with the LXT405 are the BTD140 1/2" Impact Driver and the BSS611 6-1/2" Circular saw.  In the LXT407 , you get the same 1/2" Impact Driver (BTD140) and the BJR152 Reciprocating saw.  Finally, the LXT406 ditches the 1/2" Impact Driver and gives you both the BSS611 6-1/2" Circular Saw and the BJR152 Reciprocating Saw.mediummalxt407.jpg

This is a mail-in rebate offer that will be valid for the next two months, starting today (4/1/08) and ending on May 31st.   If you're interested, go check out the rebate form here (.PDF file)

SVAT Surveillance Systems: Easy Digital Workshop Security
Written by Zach Peil
Tuesday, 01 April 2008

Hey guys, we want to bring attention to three surveillance systems from SVAT Electronics that are now available at Tool King: the CV1010DVR , the CV0204DVR and the CLEARVU1.  If you're looking for an easy way to add a layer of security to your workshop, you should definitely consider one of these SVAT surveillance systems.  Here's a quick overview of each system:

">mediumsvcv1010dvr.jpg The SVAT CV1010DVR is the most affordable of the three systems, but it's still packed with great features and makes a very capable watchdog.  It comes with one color camera that is equipped with auto-on night vision, which means that this system can monitor your workshop even in the dark.  The DVR base station uses SD cards--which are cheap and widely available--to store videos and pictures; the system comes with a 512MB SD card, and the base station can accept SD cards as large as 2GBs.  Because the 1010DVR uses SD cards, it is super-easy to just pull out the card, pop it into your computer and view, backup or email all of the pictures and video that the system recorded.  Or if you want to view the recorded information directly from the 1010DVR base station, you can simply hook it up to any TV.  This system is capable of supporting two cameras.

">mediumsvcv0204dvr.jpg The second system is the SVAT CV0204DVR, which comes with four cameras and uses a 160GB internal hard drive to store recorded data.  The cameras that come with this system record at a higher resolution than the camera that comes with the CV1010DVR, which means you will be able to see more detail in your recordings.  The base station allows you to look back at recorded data with great ease: all you have to do is input the time and date of  the footage that you want to see.  You can also connect this system to the internet so that you can access it and watch your workshop from anywhere in the world that you can get an internet connection.

">mediumsvclearvu1.jpgFinally, the SVAT CLEARVU1.  Like the CV0204DVR, the CLEARVU1 comes with four high-resolution cameras and a 160GB hard drive to record and store video.  Unlike the other two systems, this one comes with a 7 inch LCD screen built into the base station as well as a mouse and keyboard to interact with it.  This means that you don't need to hook up a TV or computer monitor to view your footage directly from the DVR base station.  Again, this system can be hooked to the internet so that you can view and manage it from anywhere that you can access the internet.

All three systems have color cameras, auto-on night vision and motion-activated recording (which can save on storage space by recording only when the camera has detected movement instead of all the time).  The best part is that all of them are easy to set up, which makes any one of them a great option for adding security where you need it.  For more details on these SVAT surveillance systems, go check them out on ToolKing.com.
