Meet The KAPEX!
The KS 120 was developed with one goal in mind: to be the best sliding Compound miter saw, period. The KS 120 is the first Miter saw with variable speed, enabling the user to match the speed of the blade with the requirements of the material for perfect cuts, every time. Finally, a sliding compound miter saw that combines a large cutting capacity with a compact lightweight design.
The innovative twin-column forward rail design gives this saw greater precision in an extremely small footprint. And Festool’s meticulous engineers designed the saw to capture 91% of the saw dust when used with a CT dust extractor when using a 36mm hose.
There are many good reasons to make the Kapex KS 120 your next sliding compound miter saw: lightweight, superb dust extraction capabilities, micro-bevel adjustments, large scales, variable speed, quick release fences, dual laser guides, and FastFix blade changes, to name a few.
Innovative features that allow you to measure and cut inside and outside corners without complex calculations are sure to take productivity to new Levels. No other sliding compound miter saw offers so much value and so many great features.
Why is the Delta 50-760 Dust Collector better than the rest?
Three Reasons:
1. The Delta 50760 comes standard with a 1-micron filtration bags. Much of the competition's Dust collectors come standard with a 30-micron bag. Wood dust can contain chemicals, carcinogens and fungi which can be inhaled into the lungs causing illness and/or permanent damage and most of this damage clings to dust particles that are smaller than 30 microns. To give you a reference for that size, your hair measures 40-60 microns in diameter. The largest particle that a good human eye can see is 10 microns.
2. The Delta 50 760 dust collector also features snap in bag rings that eliminate need for cam-over-lock style Clamps. This clampless bag system makes it very easy to install/uninstall the bag while also providing a tight seal to prevent dust from escaping. The 50-760 dust collector also comes with a 6 mil plastic chip collection bags and the option to mount the motor housing with the dust ports facing up or down for added efficiency.
3. You won't need a 220v hookup for the Delta 50-760, just plug it into your household 110v line. With a Powerful TEFC induction motor for long-lasting, smooth performance,
a sturdy steel base with swivel castors and handles conveniently located to easily move the dust collector around your shop, you can just plug it in and you are ready for a clean, virtually dustfree shop!

June's issue of Popular Woodworking has a nice overview of Milwaukee's 2401-22 12-volt lithium-ion powered compact driver written by Mr. Robert W. Lang. Mr. Lang was quite impressed with this new compact driver--so much so that he says he is considering ditching his old 12-volt drill completely in favor of the 2401-22. Here's a small snippet from the article:
"(The 2401-22) is a good drill that happens to be small. It works hard and works well, and to my aging wrist, the small size and easy maneuverability make this my go-to drill."
Mr. Lang also performed a battery life test to see how the lithium-ion battery held up, and the 2401-22 performed very admirably. This driver sounds like a keeper to me!
Hey guys, DeWalt has a pair of brand-spanking-new Framing nailers that they're touting: the D51850 round head framer and the D51825 clipped head framer. Among other things, DeWalt claims that these new Nailers consume 20% less air per shot than the most efficient product from their competition.
DeWalt has put together a nifty website for these new nailers with a whole bunch of videos, some testimonials, competition comparison charts, and more. Check it out for in-depth details on these new products.
The DeWalt D51850 and D51825 framing nailers are available now, so no agonizing wait if you've decided that you gotta have one!
As soon as we were given notice that DeWalt was going to package the DC720 18-Volt Cordless 1/2" Compact drill and the DW056 18-Volt Cordless 1/4" Impact Driver together in one kit we became quite excited. So we decided to churn out another video to tell you more about the DC720IA Cordless Package from DeWalt.
Hey! Check out this new toy: The Akeda Dovetail Jig! What makes Akeda's dovetail jig different from the competition you ask? Well, their system features a unique clamping system. It's closed system compared to the others. By closed I mean that the cutting jigs are inside the sturdy metal box, giving you a solid top to set your router on while cutting. Then, there are three different dedicated clamping positions for your board. Akeda dovetail jigs are the only jigs to let you adjust your through dovetail pin angle according to your stock thickness(maximum board thickness is 3/4").
The Akeda Dovetail Jig is extremely easy to set up and use as the video below will demonstrate. They provide a great instruction manual on cutting dovetails that is sold separately or you can download from their website for free at: www.akeda.com. As far as health and safety goes, the Akeda Jig is handsdown the most innovative with the DC16, a one piece, snap-in dust collector port (sold separately). I'll shut up now so you can watch the video!
