I need an air compressor once in a while to use around my house. I don't need anything too large and would prefer one that is fairly quiet. Got any ideas?
Easy! I'd recommend the Makita MAC700. It
is a low noise, low amp draw and high output compressor. Not to
mention it is an oiled pump compressor weighing in at only 52
pounds. Note: Other compressors, both oiled and oil-free are
available, however, I find them a little noisy to be using in a home
environment. It is nice around the house as you can use it in the
basement or the garage without disturbing the rest of the house.
This again is an oiled pump compressor and will require servicing (air/oil).
Even oil-free compressors require servicing of the air filter. The
Makita compressor is well built and durable and is a great choice for the
homeowner or handy person.
