What is your opinion on Multi Use Power Tools,ie. for sanding, sawing etc? Is there a specific brand you would recommend, and if so, why? - Daniel

Thanks for the inquiry.

Fein Multimaster MSXE6362XLThis question is real easy to answer.  I have used several different so-called “Multi-Purpose Power Tools” in the past for various projects.   Multi-Purpose tools, as with any other tool, fall under “You Get What You Pay For.”  I have found that the less expensive tools vibrate too much and have a tendency to make my hand and arm numb.  I have also found the less expensive tools very limited on the availability of accessories.

After experimentation with the less expensive tools and sometimes dreadful experiences, I finally found the true Multi-Purpose Tool, the Fein Multi-Master (MSXE6362XL.)   Anyone that is a “Do It Yourselfer” will appreciate this truly “Multi-Purpose” tool.  I found the tool expensive initially, however, with the time savings and capabilities, it has paid for itself over and over again.  I have also found that our Multi-Master sales are driven by people being exposed to someone using one.  The tool really sells itself.

Thanks to the huge variety of available accessories, I’ve been able use my Fein Multi-Master for polishing, sanding, cutting, scraping and sawing.  My most recent project required the cutting of underlayment and trim to install new kitchen cabinets. My Multi-Master worked great and offered superior control compared to using a Circular saw.  In addition, I will be installing a new tile floor in the kitchen and I will use my Multi-Master as a jamb saw (have you ever priced a Jamb Saw?) to install the new tile under the door jambs and trim.

My wife (The Commander) recently discovered my Multi-Master for her antique restoration. Needless to say, it’s not my Multi-Master anymore.  The Commander has used HER Multi-Master to sand, finish and cut replacement parts her many antique restoration projects. The Commander’s Comments, “It works great for sanding into small areas and details and it doesn’t put my hands asleep!”   There you have it, The Commander’s Endorsement.

Finally, for those of you in need for “More Power”, step up!  Fein has introduced their new line of Multi-Masters (250Q Select and 250Q Top.)  The original Multi-Master XL has a strong 160 watts of power and the new Master has 250 watts of awesome power.  Bottom line, you can get’r done faster.  Another added benefit to the new Multi-Master is the “Quick Action” tool less blade change.  The tool less blade change has also incorporated the star washer to assist in locking the tooling in at the desired angle.  Hey, less items to misplace, a winner.

Don’t have your Fein Multi-Master yet?  What’s the hold up?  Get one and find out what professional results you can get.  And Yes!!!, this is a “Rick’s Pick”  Big Time!

Thanks again for the inquiry and Happy Multi-Mastering!
