Chaotic and busy places like a jobsite could have tools and
equipments scattered all over. Most of the time people are too preoccupied
with work to think about correctly systematizing and protecting
their tools and equipment. Just as tools are vital to get a job
completed; Job equipment storage is also significant in this scenario
as the tools themselves. Properly utilized time increases the
competence and profitability. A clear organization of equipment eliminates search time as the tools are readily accessible. Also the
importance of protective clothing cannot be ignored.
Selection of proper jobsite equipment depends on the vital aspect of
jobsite safety measures and organizational needs. The first and
foremost step before making a purchase would be assessing the
requirements. There are numerous factors to be considered, such as
safety measures, assembly, accessibility options, and transportability.
Tool Storage
Hand boxes, tool belts, tool bags, chest cabinets, storage bins,
socket rails, magnetic trays, power tool cases, tool organizers, belt
pouches, and carts are miscellaneous options available for storing
tools. Hand boxes are designed with removable compartments ideal for
storing and carrying tools around. Tool belts and bags utilize the
storage capacity by allocating the stored tools vertically for easy
detection and access. Chest cabinets and storage cabinets are ideal for
storing high number of tools. Some of the chest cabinets are designed
with a set of drawers which facilitates storing tools as per their
functionality. Magnetic parts trays have a magnetic blanket on the
inside bottom of the tray to keep the parts from falling off while
working. The outer layer also has magnetic properties that lock trays
to iron or steel surfaces. Power tool cases are designed for organized
storage & transportation of different items such as hand &
power tools. Utility carts are ideal for hauling around miscellaneous
tools. The base includes wheels for easy maneuverability across any
plane surface.
Work Lights
Automotive lights, halogen lights, rechargeable lights, flex/bend
lights, florescent lights, and light bulbs are different lighting
options available. A fluorescent light is a glass tube packed with a
mixture of gases. When connected to an electric supply, there is a jolt
of energy that sparks through the length of the tube. This spark
completes the circuit. The ultraviolet light causes a mixture on the
inside of the glass tube to glow. The conversion of one kind of light
into another is called fluorescence. Rechargeable lights are high-power
Flashlights, which consists of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
Workshop lights are very useful to provide adequate illumination to
increase accuracy in any task and also to prevent accidents. Some other
convenient lighting implements include clip-on lights and cap work
lights.
Power Cords
An extension cord is also known as an extension cable. As the name
implies it is used to extend the length of a power cord, with a plug on
one end and one or more Sockets on the other end. A power strip is a
board of sockets which has multiple plug points and it is connected via
a flexible cable. An electricity bulb consists of a transparent glass
frame containing a wire filament that emits light when electricity is
passed through. Extension cords, work lights, power strips, and light
bulbs are different types of lights which are available with power
cords.
Safety Equipment
Eye, face and neck protection against the radiation and dust arising
from various operations is very essential. Equipments like gloves,
respirators, safety glasses, protective ear muffs, knee pads, aprons,
and work shoes offer great protection while working.
Miscellaneous
Tarps, snap hooks, caster wheels, dollies, ladder jacks, roofing
products, and wall braces are miscellaneous onsite equipments. Tarps or
Tarpaulins as they are popularly known are huge sturdy sheets which are
used to cover various objects. Tarps are typically made out of water
resistant or waterproof fabric; the material utilized generally for
building them is plastic or latex coated canvas. Snap hooks or grapping
hooks as they are generally known, are composite hooks that are
attached to a rope, designated to fasten a knot or hold the rope in
place. Caster wheels are designed to mechanically revolve to align
themselves to the course where they are being pushed; they are mounted
with an offset steering pivot. Commonly used on shopping carts and
chairs, dollies are specially designed structures with brake rendered
wheels, to hold up a tripod, which permits easy maneuverability. A
ladder jack is a trouble-free device containing a platform connected to
the brackets attached to a ladder. The wall brace is a piece of
equipment which sustains, fortifies, or holds things together.
One more thing...
All storage and safety equipment is required to meet with
international safety standards and also not pose any environmental
hazards.
