Introduction to Breaking Hammers and Jackhammers
Jackhammers and breaking hammers look like giant drills, but
instead of rotating, they repeatedly strike a surface like hitting with a
regular hammer.
Think of a fist made of
metal repeatedly punching and you get the idea.
So when do you need one?
The question should answer itself by the title of this
article – when you need to destroy something.
Jackhammers are renowned as the typical tool of the construction worker,
hammering away to the dismay of the people in surrounding buildings trying to
concentrate!
They’re great for breaking
up concrete, asphalt, heck even tightly compacted dirt. On the smaller end are
breaking hammers, which are more useful to the average homeowner, who may not
need the destructive power of a full-on jackhammer.
