milwaukeechiselbit.jpg There are basically two types of bits – the “spade” bit which looks like a flat shovel head (see left), or the “pointed” bit. The spade bit is better for asphalt cuts, as a saw usually can’t reach to the bottom of the asphalt, while the pointed bits are usually best for concrete. Most breaking Hammers should utilize a pointed bit, while a jackhammer can use either with impunity.
