Continuous Band Saws

These saws use a flexible chain or metal band with cutting teeth.

jet414470bandsaw.jpg Band saws, with a motor-driven continuous band can cut metal, wood or plastic.  These saws are great for very thick materials and very wide materials, as the operator can move the material for ripping or cutting.  They are also great for fine work much like scroll saws.


Chainsaws are typically used for cutting down trees or other vegetation, but can also be used for a variety of other purposes when a rough cut is permissible. They are fast, noisy, and are powered by either electricity or a gas engine. Gas powered chain saws are much more powerful than their electric counterparts, which are best used for light-duty jobs.
