hobartwelders500424welder.jpgWelding is a procedure that utilizes heat energy to fuse independent metallic parts together. This concept was discovered during trials carried out to mold iron into useful shapes. In addition to being performed under normal conditions, a welding task is also possible underwater and even in outer space. The welding industry saw a major development when Nikolai Benardos and Stanislav Olszewski were granted a patent in 1885 for an electric arc welder with a carbon electrode called the Electrogefest. Since then, welding has seen much progress, with nowadays even laser welding being introduced that uses uninterrupted pulse equipments, making it very applicable in automotive metalworking operations.

Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick), Resistance Welding and Laser Welding are the most used types of welding. The tools for the different types of welding accordingly fluctuate in design, assembly and application.

Due to its strength, welding is utilized in shipbuilding, automobile manufacturing and repair, aerospace applications, and thousands of other manufacturing activities. Some welding accessories include welding machines, clothing and protection gear.
