boschps50_hero.jpgI'm almost embarrassed to admit how excited I am to get my hands on the new Bosch Multi-tool PS50. I don't have anything except this photo to stare longingly at - but soon they tell me.

In the meantime, some of the very cool features that Bosch is bragging about include: a 240-degree adjustable tool holder and variable speed dial (5,000-20,000 rpm); 12v cordless with more power than competing multi-tools (30-minute charge time on battery); super-lightweight at 2.2 pounds (including battery); and that the PS50 is the most ergonomic multi-purpose oscillating tool while performing the fastest in cutting and sanding applications.

We don't know exactly how much smoke their blowing...

but Bosch is a solid company that produces a quality product so I would imagine the Multi-tool PS50 is going to deliver what they say.

The feature that I am looking forward to testing out the most is the compatibility with competitor accessories. Bosch states, "Using the adaptor provided, Bosch's PS50 Multi-X can easily be used with accessories from Dremel, Fein or Proxxon. Changing from one accessory tool to the next is a simple process and, in most cases, can be accomplished in as little as 60 seconds". Now that's convenient!

Bosch Multi-tool PS50 also has the same battery platform as the PS10, PS20, PS30, PS40 and the FL11 so your batteries will be interchangeable if you have the other tools. Stayed tuned for the Toologics review on the Bosch PS50 and more exciting news on what Bosch will add to the 12v Litheon lineup!

The Bosch PS50 Multi-X Tool is available for sale from ToolKing.com

I've got a set of this rather nice tool. Its a very handy tool to use but, that buzzing noise, errrr! Sometimes, it just makes me think if I should be bothered to get it out of the box when I can get jobs done using hand tools on my work bench. Nice gadget by the way, the only thing left to consider is the price. I have no idea how much it will be in the US. It is already on the shelf in the UK though.
