Bosch Power Tools Announces Partnership with Barlow Motorsports and Red Bull for CORR Off-Road Racing Series

Mount Prospect, Ill., April 22, 2008 – Bosch Power Tools today announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with Barlow Motorsports, one of the most respected racer-owned teams in the history of the young but rapidly growing Championship Off Road Racing (CORR). As co-sponsor of Team Red Bull/Bosch, the world’s largest manufacturer of power tools joins forces with one of the world’s most recognizable active lifestyle brands to reach out to motorsports fans nationwide.

Described as a cross between traditional off-road racing and Supercross, the CORR series brings Baja style high-horsepower off road racing into a man-made, enclosed circuit. The result is a spectator-friendly, high intensity racing experience that generates annual attendance of more than 200,000 and a national television audience of nearly 30 million people.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Bosch and I couldn’t be more thrilled” says Bosch vice president of marketing Randall Coe. “We were searching for an adrenaline filled sport with strong growth potential that would allow us to expose our world class brand to a newer, more youth oriented audience—Team Red Bull/Bosch and CORR gives us that opportunity.”

One of the newest and most action-packed disciplines in all of motorsports, CORR racing features several classes of competition, all leading up to the Pro-2 and Pro-4 elite classes which showcase the sport’s top drivers in 800-horsepower speed machines. Team Red Bull/Bosch will feature the formidable driving tandem of Steve Barlow and Ricky Johnson, two of the biggest names in off-road racing. Both are threats to contend for the 2008 championship.

“Bosch Power Tools is a great fit for our team. Bosch makes a great product that we actually use in the every day application. We are excited to add Bosch to the Red Bull / Barlow Motorsports team. Come out and watch Team Red Bull / Bosch battle for podiums all season long,” says team owner / driver Steve Barlow.

“I am excited that Bosch understands the opportunity in sponsoring our team,” Ricky Johnson, driver of the Barlow Motorsports #9 Pro-2 truck says of the newly forged relationship. “In all the years I raced in motocross, I never witnessed growth like this sport is experiencing. Bosch has come in at the right time with the right team. I am pleased to represent the Bosch brand as an athlete. I look forward to standing on the podium a lot this year!”

“Steve Barlow has put together an extremely focused and experienced team for this year’s season and Bosch can only make them better as the benchmark for power tools in the construction industry—what a great opportunity for the CORR fans to try our tools or see them in action in the pits,” adds Coe.

Team Red Bull/Bosch kicks off its eight-event 2008 CORR season April 25th at Pomona Fairplex just outside of Los Angeles, CA. Television coverage of the series will air nationally on NBC and Speed Channel. For event schedules, TV listings and more information, visit www.corracing.com.

Makita seems to have upped the ante on Bosch by not only sponsoring one of the best teams, they are also a major sponsor of CORR itself.
Oh, and you don't need a magnifying glass to see the Rockstar/Makita name on their team's truck.
