dw744xrs_1.jpgHey everyone, check out this cool new table saw from DeWalt: the DW744XRS.  This 10" portable table saw has a telescoping Fence design that allows up to 24-1/2" rip capacity, and the saw is equipped with a 15 Amp high-torque motor.  DeWalt is touting this product as a saw that offers the capabilities of a stationary unit in the form factor of a compact, portable unit that weighs just 58 pounds.

The DW744XRS comes with DeWalt's new DW7440RS rolling table saw stand, which can support loads of up to 200 pounds and weighs just 33 pounds itself.

DeWalt has more details on both of these products on their website, so go check out the DeWalt DW744XRS and the DeWaltDW7440RS at DeWalt.com!

Looks decent, but I would have to play with it first and see how easy it is to use compared to the Makita and Bosch units. Why in the world would the put tread on the wheels though!? Just more little grooves to collect dirt, mud and muck so we can track that in our work area- maybe DeWalt should include a broom and dustpan to keep my wife happy so I can clean after myself...

I too, would like some time to look this saw over. The Bosch saw might be a bit more stable than the Makita, Makita collapses easier than the Bosch and the Makita saw fence extends out to 25". BUT the Makita tires are grooved, hard rubber. Why some Mfg. does not install 8-10" diameter smooth rubber tires is beyond me. That would make going up steps so much easier.
