You are undoubtedly familiar with the rugged DeWalt jobsite radio/charger. This was a great innovation because it was the combination of two important jobsite products: a boombox and a cordless tool charger. It not only did those two jobs, but it's rugged construction made it exceptionally durable and above all, it looked cool.DeWalt DC022 Hybrid Worklight/Battery Charger

DeWalt has once again created a new hybrid innovation with the new DC022 fluorescent work light/battery charger. The unit includes a bright 38w fluorescent light (bright!) and a dual-port one hour battery charger that charges most DeWalt batteries (from 7.2-18v). In areas without electrical service, the light can be powered by the batteries.

As anyone who has ever used a halogen worklight knows, they get VERY hot VERY quickly. This makes them a burn hazard. Used in an enclosed space, these types of lights also tend to function as a small area heater, which is undesirable when working in already warm areas.

On the other hand, flourescent lights stay much cooler and don't have the radiant-heating effect. Their lifetime is greatly longer than halogen, so you won't have to change the lamps nearly as often.

The cool features of the DC022 don't end here!

The DC022 folds up for easy storage and for flexibility on the jobsite. The light can be rotated to any angle and the entire unit can be placed horizontally or vertically. The entire package weighs only twelve pounds, so it's easy to tote around. To avoid the need for an additional extension cord, DeWalt has intelligently equipped the DC022 with an extra-long power cord.

Equipped with three built-in GFCI outlets for safely powering corded tools, these outlets will protect the user from wiring faults, electrical shorts, or exposure to water (water+electricity=bad).

The DC022 looks to be another DeWalt product that will make you wonder how you ever lived without it. The new DC022 is available from ToolKing.com and other fine DeWalt retailers.
