hitachiwh10dl.jpgHitachi came out with a new MICRO Impact Driver and we can't wait to check it out!

You may recall Tony Green's recent review of the Hitachi DB10DL. Well the difference between the WH10DL and the DB10DL is that the WH10DL is an Impact Driver. Hitachi claims that the Micro Impact Driver is able to drive self-tapping masonry anchors into concrete, brick or block, or heavy fastening application with lag bolts. As the resistance of the load increases, the impact action is engaged to greatly increase torque to power through the most challenging tasks such as leaping tall buildings in a single bound. Okay, maybe not the last part but...

We shall soon see cause you can bet your sweet ahhh---buns that we are going to test this baby out. Stay tuned for more news on the Hitachi WH10DL...

Man, if you think that that Makita tools have a lot of swirls, curls and stripes, don't look at these tools. I saw Hitachi's 14.4v Lithium impact in Lowe's and it had more metal flake and zig-zags than some custom cars in my town.
It reminded me of those Japanese monster/super hero movies and T.V. shows- you know, the ones with the guy in the rubber suit? Fun to watch in the privacy of your own home, but not something you want to be seen renting at Blockbuster.

I've always thought that Hitachi's tools look like something out of a scifi movie or videogame like "Halo". I think they are clearly trying to engage the younger generation of power tool users with their design strategy.
