Makita is here to help again with the introduction of their 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Drywall screwdriver BFS450. One of the nicest new features of the BFS450 is that it "quietly" delivers a whopping 4000 rpm's with Makita's new durable silent clutch design.

As Brad Wheeler, Makita Product Manager for Cordless Products states, "This cordless screwgun packs 18 volt Lithium-Ion battery technology, so it has plenty of power for drywall and framing applications. This is a best-in-class solution for remodels, patchwork, and more."

The Cordless Drywall Screwdriver BFS450 has a Makita-built 4-pole motor to handle drywall and framing applications, with 4,000 RPM in a compact, lightweight design. The new silent clutch design in forward mode uses extra durable materials to decrease driver noise. The BFS450 also has a rugged aluminum dust-proof depth adjustment cone which removes easily for bit changes, and the extra-fine depth adjustment ring that has 60 detent positions.

Other handy features include an LED light to illuminate the work surface and an ergonomic shape that fits like a glove with even pressure and easy control.

The BFS450 is powered by Makita's 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery technology, a breakthrough in cordless that produces 430% total lifetime work with an increase of 2 to 3 times the number of battery cycles than the traditional Ni-Cd batteries. The kit includes a Rapid Optimum Charger, which charges a Makita 3.0Ah Lithium-Ion battery in only 30 minutes.

How does the Charger achieve maximum efficiency?
The Rapid Optimum Charger and battery communicate throughout the charging process using the built-in chip in the battery and built-in CPU chip in the charger. The charger also uses "Active 3 Control" for current control, thermal control and voltage control, with a built-in fan to cool the battery, extending the life of the product and producing more lifetime work. Makita's Rapid Optimum Charger also carries the Energy Star label for its efficient charging process.
