milwak_circsaw2630_sm.jpgWhen you pick up Milwaukee's new M18 6½” Cordless Lithium-Ion Circular saw 2630-22, you'll instantly feel the difference between this one and "the rest". The 2630-22 sports a magnesium lower guard, making it lightweight and durable to carry around all day when you are cutting, framing, plumbing, finishing, and doing electrical and carpentry work.

Milwaukee put the emphasis on power, run-time and durability with this cordless circular saw. The 2630-22 has 2.8 amp/hours on the Lithium-ion battery and like the rest of their Li-Ion cordless tools, a battery Level indicator to let you know just how much time you have left before you run out of power.

The 2630-22 is a high performance 6½” cordless circular saw with a powerful 3,500 RPM motor that easily and quickly cuts tough material such as LVL headers. Magnesium upper and lower guards provide durability to protect the blade from drops. The M18 Circular Saw has a soft-grip handle which is ergonomically designed to provide superior comfort and balance for easily controlled cuts. An easy-to-read aircraft aluminum shoe provides a light weight durable shoe and greater accuracy in rip cuts.

The 2630-22 features an 18V XC High Capacity LITHIUM-ION battery for longer run-time and up to 20 percent more torque for powerful cuts. It also has a Battery Fuel Gauge which displays the remaining run-time.

Backed by Milwaukee’s 5-year 2,000-charge warranty, the 2630-22 comes equipped with two 18V XC High Capacity LITHIUM-ION batteries, 1-hour charger and carrying case.

The Milwaukee M18 6½” Cordless Circular Saw 2630-22 will be available at Toolking.com in October.

I'm wondering if these new tools will be compatible with Milwaukees older batteries. I just bought into the V18 not long ago. And are they going to go the same way with the V28 line?

PutnamEco,
The new M18 series of tools from Milwaukee are not compatible with any other series of Milwaukee batteries except M18. For those of you keeping count, M18 is Milwaukee's 3rd iteration of 18v lithium ion batteries. Milwaukee is strongly suggesting that M18 will be the focus moving forward.

I'm not seeing the benefits with the new battery. Seems like this is the third try, because the first two were failures. If they were not failures then why 3 different types within such a short time frame?
