Contractor Series blades include features for tough jobsite applications
Mt. Prospect, IL. – News Flash
With the introduction of the SKILSAW® in 1924, SKIL Power Tools has been producing circular saws and blades for a variety of users such as framers, builders, and DIYers. The Contractor Series of Circular saw blades builds upon this expertise, resulting in unmatched cutting performance.
Aptly named Contractor Series for their jobsite tested features, the new SKIL circular saw blades incorporate a thin Kerf design which results in a faster cut versus fat-body blades. “J”-hook expansion slots allow the blade to dissipate heat during use which helps the blade run straight and true. The anti-stick coating also helps to resists heat, friction and binding for smooth, easy cutting.
“The combination of precision-ground titanium carbide teeth and tri-metal shim braze on the new Skil Contractor Series and Worm Drive circular saw blades allows them to resist impact and tooth damage in demanding applications such as sawing through nail-ridden lumber,” said Jon Howell, circular saw blade product manager.
The 7-1/4” Contractor Series blades come with a 5/8” arbor and diamond knockout, allowing them to be used on either standard “side-winder” saws or a worm drive. Tooth configurations will range from 18 to 40. There will also be a dedicated 7-1/4” 24-tooth worm drive saw blade with only the diamond knockout. This is the same blade that will be appearing as standard issue on the SKIL SHD77 and SHD77M Worm Drive Saws with 51 degree bevel capacity in July 2008. 10” 40-tooth and 60-tooth blades round out the lineup.
The new Skil circular saw blades will be available in stores nationwide beginning in March of 2008 and will have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price ranging from $9.99 to $69.99.
