ToolLogic, besides having a name oddly similar to ours, is also the manufacturer of various unique and interesting tools. One of their particularly interesting products caught our interest. It's a multifunction survival knife called the "Firesteel Knife".

Besides the 3" stainless blade, it also comes equipped with magnesium alloy fire starter (that's what the thing near the top of the picture is). Scrape the knife along the firestater and you'll easily generate incredibly hot 5500ºF sparks , even if it's wet. To top things off, an emergency signaling whistle is also built into the knife.

Weighing in at just under 3oz, this would be a great knife for backpackers, campers, explorers, or even to just have around the house. You never know when you might need white-hot magnesium sparks....
