Keeping in line with their reputation for having the highest quality tools on the market, Festool's TS55 EQ is not just another 6-1/4 inch plunge cut Circular saw. The TS55 weighs only 9.92 pounds and has a saw blade speed of 2,000 - 5,200 rpm.
Festool states that the TS 55 is easier to handle and more accurate than traditional circular saws due to their incorporation of MMC electronics. More specifically, the MMC electronics are a variable speed that allows you to match the speed of the saw to the material. The electronics also maintain a consistent speed under load, improving cut performance and protecting the saw’s motor from thermal and current overload. Also, the TS 55 makes the actual cut right on the edge of the scribe line, even on bevel cuts. How's that for accuracy?

Additional features of the TS 55 include FastFix blade changes, a retractable spring-loaded riving knife, and triple motor bearings to improve the smoothness of your cutting action (aka: less splintering on your edges). The TS55 plunge cut circular saw also has an integrated dust extraction system that works well with the Festool CT dust extractor
to direct sawdust away from you and keep harmful air-born wood dust to a minimum.
The 55 mm cutting depth of the TS55, gives you almost 2 inches of cutting capacity when used with the guide rail. The plunge action allows you to make precision cut outs on wood surfaces and flooring. With the replaceable splinter guard, the TS55 incorporates splinter-free cutting on both sides of the cut line. The guard and the guide rail also helps to eliminate tear out on both sides of the cut line. Keeping both sides of the cut line clean means less material waste for you.
The TS55 EQ comes with a 55 inch guide rail and a 48-tooth high quality carbide blade.
