Want to save time and make more money on your jobsite? How, you ask? By speeding up production and reducing errors. You know that. The Stabila Laser Level is innovative tool that will help you do just that:
Stabila has been in the business of designing measuring and leveling instruments since 1886 when the Ullrich brothers designed and patented the spring hinge on folding rulers. Times have changed since then and Stabila has changed along with it, consistently producing innovative measuring and leveling tools ahead of the rest. Their products are accurate, easy to use and built to be durable on the construction site.
The STABILA LAPR 100 rotating laser is an automatic leveling laser used for Commercial building applications. It has a diameter range of 590ft/180m. Rather than casting a long line, the LAPR100 casts a single dot or emits a signal that causes its receiver to beep, making it perfect for outdoor use. This product is ideal for checking that foundations are level, shooting control lines so that windows and doors line up, installing wainscotting, setting kitchen cabinets, laying walls, installing decks, balustrades, and siding - all with only one person.
The old way is to use an optical transit, a specialized type of theodolite that was developed in the early 19th century. The difficulty associated with this instrument is if someone kicks it, it knocks it out of level. The automatic leveling laser in the STABILA tools eliminates that problem because it uses a self leveling pendulum. To set it up, place the laser on a tripod, then raise the tripod to work with the laser in your strike zone (between your knees and shoulders). The laser is built within a steel cage which also acts as an elevator to raise and lower the laser for fine tuning. On the LAPR100, instead of using a laser light, you would use a receiver that sounds a continuous beep when it reaches a level point. This level can be set up and used to check foundation corners for level, by one person, in about 30 minutes. The LAPR100 also features an on/off switch, which causes the instrument to "clamp down its guts" to prevent damage while not in use.
The STABILA LAR100 can be used for light commercial applications for plumb, level and Square. It includes a receiver for application use inside and a remote control to move the laser in minute increments. The LAR 100 is simple to run and designed to level-hang suspended ceilings (with the wall mount system and magnetic ceiling card included with laser), do incline off of one axis (5 degrees - 1/12 great for handicap ramps), as well as setting indoor level lines necessary for construction.
The LA-4P Laser Bob from STABILA includes the 4-point laser, soft pouch to carry it it, multipurpose platform, wall bracket and 2 target plates and a hard case for storage. It is a four beam laser designed to do interior layout on a small job site and has a range of 100 feet. It will calculate plumb, level and square for walls, ceilings and roofs and is also designed to fit over a piece of steel bottom track. The Laser Bob includes an adaptor base that can be mounted to a wood column and also has magnets built into the base so that you can attach it to a steel beam for convenience. This smaller version takes the place of a rotating laser and fits into a small nylon carrying pouch. It is handy to use for vents to roof because it self centers the beam for plumb up which makes it easy to find the plumb point (where the pipes will go up into roof).
The HL100 Laser hole leveler is another point laser that is used for positioning holes in a row through joists and studs. It features a slope line range of 3 degrees. This tool is the most innovative in the Stabila line and will save you 45-60 minutes/day when drilling straight line holes for pipes and slopes for drains on a custom home. The product includes a laser, laser glasses, adapter plate to use over larger holes and steel studs (with 2 locking nuts), dye caste magnetic torpedo and a hard shell storage case.
My favorite feature of the HL100 is that it also works upside down, making it convenient for drilling holes above you (ie:through a floor that's above you), especially with TJI joists. The HL100's laser system makes it easy configure plumb for vent to roof, a typically frustrating application. This tool makes it easy to vent sinks, toilets and drains through the roof and includes an attachment that allows it to fit into 4-1/4 inch pipes.
STABILA also carries an extensive array of Spirit Levels. Use for form setting, jambs, tile installation, stairs, steps, towel bars, trim for window, and any type of finish carpentry, having the right size level is important in construction. STABILA carries extention Levels/plate levels, which are designed to work from the floor to ceiling up to 12'. For the general contractor it is really essential to have a complete set of levels ranging in sizes from 16" up to 8' because levels don't work well unless they work all the way across the opening of what you are trying to level.
STABILA has been recognized in the building trades for their quality products since the 1800's. STABILA guarantees that its products will maintain their stated accuracy or STABILA will replace/repair them(see specifics on warranty here). Their tools are top of the line in quality (and price). But like all quality products, what you pay for in a higher price, will pay for itself by saving you time.
