 New Tool Review Feature at Lumberjocks.com

LumberJocks.com expands its support for woodworkers and new tool reviews are flowing in! This new component of LumberJocks.com provides woodworkers with personal tool reviews, which will help them make decisions about their own future purchases.
This new resource has been greeted with a lot of excitement, with positive feedback being provided following the announcement. One reason for its success is that the reviews are written by woodworkers based on their own shop experiences. As Joe Heskett, a LumberJocks member, states, there's "no better review than by actual users."
The support for this new woodworkers' resource is expressed not only through the positive feedback but also by immediate use of the new feature. Within 24 hours of the new component of LumberJocks.com being up and running, the members had already posted 10 reviews. In the same 24 hours, these reviews had over 540 views by other woodworkers!
How It Works
Reviews are organized by "Categories", "Brands" and individual products, making pre-shopping research easy for the woodworkers. The reviews provide not only a written or video review of the tool but also a 5-star rating assessment. As well as getting to see how each individual reviewer has rated the tool, there is also an "average product rating" displayed as well, combining the scores of all review ratings of a particular product.
A recent poll conducted by Martin Sojka, Founder of LumberJocks.com, shows that the woodworkers spent an average of over $4500 on tools and supplies last year. Also, 25% of the poll participants said that they planned on making at least one tool purchase in 2008. With over 2500 members and 6,000 visitors per day, this new feature is of great benefit to woodworkers, providing another source of information to check prior to making any woodworking-related purchases.
Future Plans
Sojka is already working on the next phase of the site, which will offer a branding package to companies. Sojka is very excited about this next enhancement and says that it will not only brand company pages with logo and header image but as well compile all the reviews for a specific company, all the site contents tagged with the company name, and all the discussions about the company's products into one list. He says that it will introduce better communication between companies and their customers, current and future.
