The Tool Hero's have struck again. Leaping tall buildings in a single bound, putting out fires that are ripping through acres of forest and plains, and saving lives by cutting accident victims out of vehicles with the Jaws of Life.
From the words of Rick Schwolsky, Editor and Chief of Tools of the Trade Magazine, "Pinned in the wreckage and gasping for air, all I could do was watch and wait as they worked–all business. I'll never forget them as long as I live. They probably won't forget me either. Not just because of the incredible scene, but because there in the midst of the noise and chaos, from under the protective blanket they had placed over me, I was the guy who asked what kind of recip saw they were using to cut away the top of my car. I couldn't help it."
The firefighters at Cherryvale Fire Department (now called Rocky Mountain Fire) cut Rick out of his car with hydraulic Jaws of Life (see photo), hydraulic cutters and a Reciprocating saw among other tools. Without firefighters and power tools, Rick Schwolsky and many others would die trapped in their cars, unable to get the immediate medical attention they need to save their lives.
Hip, hip hooray is what I say!
