As the use of lithium ion batteries in cordless tools continues to grow, a few new tools have already started to stand out. Combining extraordinary power capacity with light weight, they are very appealing to tool users everywhere.
Today's Tool of the Day is Milwaukee's exceptional 0724-24 28v lithium ion powered cordless hammer drill. Click "read more" to find out more about this high tech drill!
The Milwaukee 0724-24 1/2" hammer drill is one badass tool. It's hi-tech 28v lithium ion battery pack delivers up to twice the run time as an 18v NiMh equivalent, while weighing only half as much! The powerful motor and all-metal gearbox (2 speeds) delivers up to 600 inch pounds of torque and 1800rpm of speed.
The hammer system, selectable via a rotating metal ring near the front of the drill, can deliver up to 27,000 oscillations per minute!
An 1/2" all-metal ratcheting keyless chuck with carbide jaws ensures that bits won't slip or fall out. A soft grip handle helps reduce vibration and fatigue, making this tool surprisingly comfortable to use, even if you use it all day long. The battery pack can be attached either forwards and backwards to customize the balance of the tool, which is VERY useful when working overhead.
Milwaukee also developed the innovative clip-lock system which makes it quick and easy to attach and remove the tool from your tool belt.
Milwaukee warranties all of their lithium ion batteries for an unprecedented 5 years (or 2000 charges, whichever comes first..and yes, they can tell how many times a pack has been charged!).
The Milwaukee 0724-24 is a very powerful hammer drill. It's engineered for years of reliable service and uses the latest technology for a comfortable and efficient experience. It's available new from ToolKing.com

heres a few facts that may interest you:
The V28 batteries self drain in about2- 3 weeks depending on the temperatures and will half drain in about a week.
this means that if you put the tool away with a half battery charge and grab it for a quick job 4 days later it will most likely be dead.
I can say that after 2 years of owning the V28 line, burning out 3 hammer drills and a Circular saw, and batteries being dead pretty much any time I go for a tool, that Milwaukee lithium tools are at the bottom of the pack. On the other hand Makitas LXT hold their charge in my hot work van for up to 4 months!!(thats a full charge held for 4 months!)
