portercable_psh2.jpgThe Porter-Cable PSH2 is a Gravity Feed Detail Spray Gun that has a maximum operating pressure of 60 lbs per Square inch (PSI). According to Pete from Toolking (who was a professional painter for 25 years), the Porter-Cable PSH2 is the best Spray gun on the market for many reasons.

First, the PSH2 gravity feed spray gun has a 90% transfer rate which makes this sprayer one of most environmentally compliant paint sprayers on the market. The PSH2 is a HVLP sprayer gun that works with high volume and low pressure which gives the sprayer it's 90% transfer rate. Most of the older guns only have about a 45% transfer rate which means that the rest of the paint goes out into the atmosphere.

Second, the PorterCable PSH2 spray gun features separate fluid and air controls. This allows you to adjust the air flow as well as adjust the pattern that you are spraying the paint - basically from round to narrow, depending upon your material and site conditions. You can also adjust the material flow, the amount of paint that you are spraying at any given time.

The PorterCable PSH2 has a lightweight, durable die-cast alloy gun body and small plastic cup which enable you to spray in tight areas where a larger gun could not reach. It the perfect spray gun for customized jobs or restoration, and priced for professionals and homeowners alike. Check out Pete's video demo:

If you're looking for an air compressor to go with your spray gun, then Pete recommends the Makita MAC700.

The Makita MAC700 is a 2 horsepower Hot Dog Air Compressor that features a super quiet motor because of it's 1720 RPM pump. This capacity of pump enables greater displacement at lower RPM, thus a quieter running compressor. The MAC700 also has finned discharge tubing which increases heat dissipation and in turn, reduces moisture in the lines. The Makita MAC700 also has an easily removable cast iron cylinder to reduce wear and increase the life of the pump.

Features of the Makita MAC700 include heavy-duty roll cage construction, only 12.4 amps to operate, a roll-bar handle for protection, large automotive style industrial air filter for increased air intake and greater efficiency, and an oil sight glass for fast, easy and efficient maintenance.
