woodwhisperer-hs.jpgMarc Spagnuolo, better known as "The Wood Whisperer", may be one of the most prolific contributors to the internet woodworking community. Not only does he produce his own excellent internet video woodworking show, he also contributes to several blogs and participates in the awesome Lumberjocks.com woodworking community.

Marc wrote a great entry about using oils as a simple finish over at WoodTalkOnline.com, a collaborative woodworking blog. Although he's not crazy about finishing his work with oils, he does offer a lot of useful information and tips about using linseed or tung oil as an inexpensive and easy-to-use finishing solution on your next project. If you're new to woodworking or have ever been curious about oil finishes, it's a definite must-read.

One more thing: Marc makes a good safety point that we'll repeat here. Oil-soaked rags are a tremendous fire hazard, so be especially considerate of proper shop fire safety rules when using or disposing these rags!
