How Illusionist Criss Angel Uses Screwdrivers PDF Print E-mail

Criss Angel, a popular illusionist famous for his surreal magic show "Mindfreak " on A&E recently executed an illusion that I thought be perfect to feature on Toologics: walking across  screwdrivers.

Can you say "ouch"?

Criss used a dozen 18" long flathead screwdrivers, point up, and walked across them barefoot. To up the ante, the surrounding area was filled with broken glass, ensuring a brutal conclusion if he fell from the tips of the screwdrivers. Furthermore, the entire illusion was performed in an open air plaza,  surrounded by downtown Las Vegas tourists.

How'd he do it?Is it amazing pain tolerance? Some sort of gimmick? Watch this video and judge for yourself. Warning...not for the squeamish!

Criss Angel is currently working with Canadian performance group Cirque du Soleil to create a magic-themed Cirque du Soleil show at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas. The show, called BELIEVE opens this fall and will run for at least ten years.  I don't see how it could be any less than totally  awesome.
