The 15 amp LS1216L features 6 linear ball bearings and 4 steel rails for adjustment-free accurate cuts, right out of the box, with no special set up.

“The new LS1216L is engineered with best-in-class capacity, accuracy, versatility and durability for a range of trades,” said Joe Soto, product manager for pneumatics and residential construction. “This is an ideal saw for precision tasks in woodworking shops, as well as for cutting large materials like 4x16 beams and wide boards up to 15 inches."

The LS1216L miter saw also has a patented 4-steel rail sliding system that further increases rigidity to produce accurate cuts, as the four steel rails experience less deflection. The four steel rails also enable a more compact rear design than standard two-rail systems, giving you a larger cutting capacity.

The LS1216L has a large precision-machined base and a 5-1/2 nch tall dual sliding fence system with versatile upper and lower fence adjustments. The upper and lower fences slide to accommodate a variety of cutting applications. The saw miters 0° to 52° left and 0° to 60° right, with positive stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, and 45° (left and right). The dual rear-handle bevel lock is easily accessible with adjustments 0° to 45° (left and right), with positive stops at 0°, 22.5°, 33.9°, and 45° (left and right). The LS1216L also features a built-in laser that indicates the line of cut whether the blade is turning or not, and an on-off switch with micro-adjustments.

Additional features include a patented 4-steel rail sliding system that takes up less rear space, a see-through blade guard system that provides greater visibility of blade and line-of-cut, and a one-step blade change process.

The new LS1216L is also available with Makita’s Jobsite Miter Saw Stand LS1216LX. The LS1216LX miter stand adjusts to five positions with a spring-loaded mechanism for quick and easy set up. The LS1216LX also includes a large platform base and 9 inch material support extensions with feed roller to support long crown molding. The stand is equipped with a large rubberized handle and solid rubber 12 inch wheels for easy portability.
