Metabo is raving about their new LT- and LTX-class cordless drill/drivers, calling them the "masters of their trade". Why? Well this is what they say: First of all, Metabo doesn't call them tools, the LT and LXT drill/drivers are described as "high-performance machines". Metabo has designed a new gear concept with an innovative torque clutch that makes a wider range of applications possible, as the adjustable torque range has been virtually doubled. You can also work without a drill chuck because of the way the hex bit holder in the spindle is designed. This means reduced weight and size which is ideal for places which are hard to access.
Second, Metabo has a new motor and battery concept which makes the drill/drivers more compact and powerful. The design of their new cordless drills has been made more ergonomic, with a smaller and more compact size. The drill/drivers are also 1 kg lighter (LTX-Class) reducing user fatigue during extended periods of use. The new size and agility of the LX and LXT drill/drivers make them great for working in tight spaces.
Third, Metabo has a new electronic single cell protection (ESCP) system which protects the battery pack and the machine from overloading. The air-cooled charging technology means the battery packs are charged gently and quickly. The three different battery packs Li-Power Compact, Li-Power Plus and Li-Power Extreme feature a charge level indicator and provide the optimum performance required for each and every application within their class. Another feature is that the core pack is float-mounted which gives greater battery cell protection and increased service life.
Metabo is also extremely proud of their "Air-Cooled" charging technology. "Our proven AIR COOLED charging technology with its innovative guided air flow ducting cools the battery pack during charging to an optimum temperature level. This shortens the charging process by about 30%, the batteries last significantly longer and saves having to wait long periods for your batteries to charge."
And fourth, Metabo's motors are more efficient basically to achieve high performance while at the same time minimizing the size. They implemented that efficiency by a few technical improvements such as: Optimized ventilation slots and an improved cooling principle, as well as an optimized overload range. So there you have it. Additional features include a spanner flat for removing drill chucks, 43mm collar for 360 degree rotation of side handle, and a built-in LED work light. Comes with Metabo's three-year warranty on all machines, batteries, chucks and chargers.
