Angle grinders can be used for anything from grinding metal, cutting tile, mortar, stucco and pavers to making intricate cuts for a tile backsplash, depending upon the type of disc you use with it. Wire brush attachments are great for removing rust and loose paint while special abrasive wheels can cut or grind steel.
Choose an angle grinder by the size of the disc, the type of power source they use and the amount of power you want in the motor. You can get a cordless angle grinder, electric or a grinder run on a gasoline motor. Discs run in size from four to seven inches. There are abrasive grinding discs, sanding discs, wire brush wheels, polishing pads and diamond blade cut off discs. Diamond discs are used for such things as tile, mortar and pavers. Wire brushes are used for taking off flaking paint and rust. Abrasive cutting wheels grind or cut steel. For home use, the four to four and a half inch size is the most common choice. If you need an angle grinder for your profession, then the size should be determined by the disc you need and what you will use it for.
Milwaukee has a new 4-1/2 inch small angle grinder 6130-33 that measures 10 inches in length and weighs only 3.5 pounds. The 6130-33 grinder features a 7.5 amp motor that runs at 11,000rpm and is built with compact and lightweight design. The 6130-33 also has an innovative tool free adjustable guard to keep debris away from you. What's different with this Milwaukee angle grinder is that it delivers an advanced airflow system featuring debris baffles that protect the motor by blocking debris particles from getting in to provide clean air flow through the grinder. In addition, multi-port exhaust allows hot air to escape rapidly on all four sides of the gear case, keeping the motor cool and delivering optimal performance. And a cool, debris-free motor make for a happy, long lasting angle grinder.
“The best way to complete a job successfully is to have the right tool for the application,” says Michael Schleuse, Sr. Product Manager for Milwaukee Electric Tool. “With a 7.5 amp, 750 MWO Motor, the new grinder is designed for a broad array of applications and expands Milwaukee’s grinder line to include an even more extensive range of power and speed."
Milwaukee's 6130-33 includes the angle grinder, 4-1/2 inch Type 27 grinding wheel, flange nuts, spanner wrench and Type 27 guard and is covered by MILWAUKEE's Heavy-Duty 5-year warranty.
