Miller's New Filtair 130 Portable Fume Extractor

miller_FILTAIR_130Miller's new Filtair 130 portable fume extractor is designed with 132 CFM and a high-efficiency cartridge filter to collect weld fume particles at the source for contractors, maintenance and repair operaters and for intermittent welding. The filter on the Filtair 130 is manually cleanable and the unit features a fume collection tray to minimize maintenance. Miller states that the Filter 130 has the highest performing filter in the industry and will last longer and capture the smallest submicron (<1 micron) particles.

The Filtair 130 has a noise rating of 68.5 dBA at 5 feet(1.5 m), which makes it pretty darn quiet. Features include an adjustable airflow control that allows you to change your airflow capacity for different welding applications, and a collection hose which connects to optional Bernard® Clean Air Gun™ or flexible/slotted Magnetic Nozzles depending upon your needs.

Measuring 23 inches high and 12 inches both deep and wide, the Filtair 130 portable fume extractor has castor wheels and a handle bar for increased portability and a small footprint that allows you to maneuver it into small spaces or hard to reach areas. The Filtair 130 includes a 20 foot (6 m) power cord and an 8 foot (2.4 m) collection hose. Optional 17 and 34 ft (5.2 and 10.4 m) collection hoses are also available. www.millerwelds.com

And don't forget to be safe while you are welding. Here are 12 helpful welding safety procedures:

  1. Read the Instruction Manual. Yup. Read it.
  2. Button up. Your pants and shirt.
  3. Wear the proper gear. It's about looking good AND being protected.
  4. Wear the right shoes. No flip-flops.
  5. Breathe Freely. Self explanatory.
  6. Don't see the light. Welding light could seriously damage your vision.
  7. Use auto-darkening helmets.
  8. Avoid repetitive stress injuries.
  9. Lose the clutter. Just clean up your crap.
  10. Use boom-mounted wire feeders.
  11. Optimize fixturing.
  12. Stick and carrot approaches. No this doesn't mean eat while you weld.
