| Wet saw | A Wet saw is used for cutting tile. The type of tile determines what type of tile saw is appropriate. Features to look for in a tile saw include: blade type and size, motor size and amperage, water distribution system, and an optional fan-cooled motor.

| Wet Saw/Tile Saw | A Tile saw cuts tile accurately and effectively. A wet tile saw uses a diamond blade to abrasively cut the tile with water to cool the blade. Tile saw diamond blades range from types to cut ceramic and marble to granite and porcelain.

| Wet set method | Roof tile installation method used on roofs with less than a 7/12 slope and usually over a mineral faced hot-mopped underlayment. The tile is wet before installation so that the motor(used to secure tiles) will better bond to it. This method is most commonly used in the Southeastern United States where high winds and high moisture combine. Also referred to as mortar-set method or mud-on method.

| Wet/dry vacuums | Wet/dry vacuums are the ultimate in vacuuming. Any mess that you wouldn't dare touch with your hands can be picked up with a wet/dry vacuums. Features to look for in a wet/dry vacuum include size of motor, tank capacity, nozzles and accessory attachments, type of filter, length of power cord and onboard attachment storage.

| Winding Sticks | Two narrow, thin, pieces of material whose edges are perfectly parallel which are placed on each end of a workpiece. The worker then sights across the top of them to determine if the piece is flat.

| Wire gauge | Unit of measure used to indicate wire size. The thicker the wire, the smaller the GAUGE number.

| Woodworking lathes | Woodworking lathes are used to change the size, shape or finish of a revolving workpiece with various cutting tools. Lathes are made up of a headstock, tailstock, carriage and bed. The correct lathe to choose is dependent upon the size of the pieces that you will be turning.
